    After a very close run competition the results of this season’s Digital League – Congratulations:

    • First place Gordon Clarke
    • Second place Paul Radden
    • Third place Mark Edwards
    • Four place Graham Woolmer.

    Last Thursday was the Bernie Morgan Panel Trophy. I will send out the results next week.

    No meeting next Thursday 29 March. Have a good Easter holiday.

    Next meeting is on Thursday 5 April with the Tony Perryman Monochrome Trophy. It will be a good competition, the judge is Colin Westgate.

    Prints for the Glass Trophy need to be in by the end of April. No limit to the number or entries per member.

    Wednesday 11 April is a competition at the Loughton Camera Club. All our members are invited to cheer for us.

    Our new projector and new screen are now proving to be a success. Thanks to all the members for their support and donations.

    • Good to see so many members on Thursday 15 March for the fourth and final round of the digital league competition. Results will be revealed next Thursday.
    • Next Thursday 22 March is our panel competition also “Hand-In” for the Tony Perryman Monochrome Print competition.
    • Sorry no meeting on Thursday 29 March.
    • You should now be getting on with your images of glass for the OI Print Glass Trophy. Not only a trophy but bottles of interesting drinks for the winners as well.
    • Great news we have received the new projector and screen.
    • Thanks to all the members for their generous donations towards the new screen. Also thanks goes to Stansted Airport for the new projector.

    • Good news regarding Sunday’s East Anglian Federation’s Print Championships. Harlow PS managed to get through to the final but did not win this time.
    • Thursday 8 March was a nostalgic presentation by Pauline Martindale of her Vancouver to Niagara trip.
    • Next Thursday is our fourth Digital League competition.
    • Last call on Thursday 15 March for Print Panel (Bernie Morgan Trophy) entries.
    • Thursday 22 March Hand-In for the Mono Print (Tony Perryman) competition.
    • The club will soon be the proud owners of a new projector, curtesy of Stansted Airport.
    • We will be holding a raffle over the next two weeks to enable us to purchasing a new screen.
    • Thanks to two of our members they have already contributed a total of £90.00 to start the “new screen fund” off.

    More London by Chris Shepherd Curves

    Because the judge could not get to us to judge our Panel Competition we have rescheduled it for Thursday 22 March, so there is still time to enter one of your brilliant panels.

    The Beast from the East did not stop us meeting at the club on Thursday 1 March. We had a very instructive AV presentation by Heather & Gordon Clarke.

    Well done to Heather & Gordon for their presentation and all the members that braved the cold. Our members are a tough-lot.

    Next Thursday 8 March is a presentation by Pauline Martindale “ Vancouver to Niagara”.

    Also next Thursday is Hand-In for the Fourth Digital League Competition. Images on memory sticks or emailed to Malcolm.

    I would like to see lots of prints please for the fourth coming Glass Competition.

    Fingers crossed that we do well this Sunday 4 March in the East Anglian Federation Championships.

    Thursday 22 Feb. we had the privilege of seeing the best of last season’s regional exhibition images. Which I am pleased to say included some of our own members work.

    Next Thursday 1 March (yes another month gone) is our panel competition. This is our members chance to show a body of work using a set of images.

    March 8 is the Fourth Round Digital League Hand-In. Still a chance to win the league.

    Thursday 22 March is a practical evening suggestions or request please.

    Members should now be working on your Glass images for the sponsored OI competition, prints only and no limit to the number of entries.

    Sunday 4 March is the East Anglian Federation’s print championships. Fingers crossed that we are successful.

    The Annual Photography Show in Birmingham 17 – 20 March.

    Our Facebook page and Flickr site need a few more new images.

    Thursday 15 Feb. the judge for our Wildlife competition was taken ill at the last moment but thankfully Bob Norris from Ware photographic club stepped in to save the day.

    Great News – This week we received a cheque from Stansted Airport for us to buy a new projector.

    Thursday 22 Feb. is Hand-in for the “Panel” competition please see the club rules for details.

    Thursday 22 Feb. is Hand-in for the EAF Exhibition.

    Thursday 22 Feb. change of programme. A presentation of last season’s EAF Exhibition images.

    Volunteer of a new programme secretary needed. Help and training will be given.

    Thursday 8 Feb. A very enjoyable presentation by Marilyn & Mike Steward, with their Grand Tour of China. A very interesting photographic 27 days of their trip around China.

    Congratulation to Paul Radden who was elected president of the EAF on Sunday 4 Feb.

    Congratulation to David Woods who was awarded his CPAGB last night at the club by the new EAF president Paul Radden.

    A successful work-shop on Wednesday 7 Feb. for some of our members who we interested in mounting prints for competitions.

    Next week Thursday 15 Feb. is our Wildlife/Natural History competition Digital only. Entries to me by email by midnight this Sunday.

    Thursday 22 Feb. is a presentation of the best of our regional’s images from last season’s photography. (22 Feb. notice change of programme).

    Last Thursday 1 February we had a good “Third Print League” round. Congratulation to the high scorers and commiserations to the low scorers.

    Next Thursday 8 February is a presentation by Marilyn & Mike Steward with a “Grand Tour of China”.

    Also Thursday 8 February is Hand-in for the “Digital Wildlife/Natural History”. See club rules – Natural History means no manipulation.

    Thursday 22 February change of programme “It’s a Knock-out” HAS BEEN CANCELLED”.

    Also Thursday 22 February is Hand-In for the EAF Exhibition entries. Please ask for entry rules.

    Members Corner:  

    Wednesday 7 February at 8:00pm is a practical evening on Print Mounting for competitions. This will be in Malcolms studio, this is open to all our member but let Malcolm know if you are coming please.

    Next Thursday 25 January is Hand-In for the Third round of the Print League Competition.

    Next Thursday Local photographers Margery & Kevin Maskell will be presenting their photography.

    Welcome to the New Year and to all our members and visitors on Thursday 11 January 2018.

    I was pleased that there were so many members and visitors for an excellent photographic presentation by Anne Miles of Cambridge.
    Anne was happy to share her photography and photographic secrets with us. A brilliant presentation of mono photography from all over the world.

    Next Thursday 18 January is our “Third League Digital” competition. If you have not yet handed in your entry you have until midnight Sunday 16 Jan. to email them to Malcolm.

    Reminder: closing date for the regional exhibition is Thursday 22 February. Up to 3 mono prints – 3 colour prints – 4 digital images per member.

    Change of programme: Thursday 22 February it’s a knockout has been replaced details on our website.

    We will be replacing our projector this year with something more up to date.  If you have any expert knowledge of digital projectors, the committee would be happy to hear from you.
